GDPR-first privacy information

Terms of Service

These terms explain the basic rules for using Shelvly. They are written in plain language for an MVP launch and may be updated as the service evolves.

Last updated: 12 July 2026

1. About Shelvly

Shelvly is a web-first shared pantry and home food stock management app that helps users track food items, quantities, expiry dates, storage locations, and shared pantry access. The service is provided by Newlux Multiservice LDA. For privacy matters, Newlux Multiservice LDA is the Data Controller. Address: Tete City, Tete 2301, Mozambique. Contact: support@shelvly.app.

2. Account responsibility

Users are responsible for keeping their login details secure, using accurate account information, and telling us if they suspect unauthorized access. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not displayed in the Shelvly UI.

3. Acceptable use

Users must use Shelvly lawfully and respectfully.

  • Do not use the service to harm, harass, or impersonate others.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security, roles, or access controls.
  • Do not upload or enter illegal, harmful, or highly sensitive content into pantry fields.
  • Do not interfere with the service, infrastructure, or other users’ access.

4. Pantry sharing and user responsibility

Pantry owners control invitations and roles. If you invite someone, they may see pantry data and activity depending on their access level, so you should invite only trusted people.

5. User content and data

Users keep ownership of and responsibility for pantry names, items, images, shopping list entries, task data, recipes, recipe cover images, notes, invites, and other content they add. Do not upload sensitive personal documents, inappropriate content, or content you do not have permission to use.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep Shelvly available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, provider outages, internet issues, or product changes may affect availability.

7. Future paid features

Premium is coming soon. Payments are not currently active. Future payments will be handled by a payment provider before any paid Premium features are unlocked.

8. Limitation of liability

Shelvly helps you organize information, but you are responsible for checking food safety, expiry dates, storage conditions, allergens, quantities, purchase decisions, and whether food is safe to consume. Recipe suggestions, ingredient checks, and shopping list actions are organizational tools and may not reflect dietary, allergy, or safety requirements. The service is provided without guarantees beyond those required by law.

9. Changes to the service

We may add, remove, or change features as Shelvly evolves. Important legal or privacy changes should be reflected in updated terms or policies.

10. Termination and account deletion

Users may stop using Shelvly, deactivate their account, or request account deletion. Deletion requests are registered immediately, accounts are deactivated immediately, and Shelvly aims to process deletion requests as soon as reasonably possible and normally within 14 days unless a legal exception or operational issue applies. Reactivating before permanent deletion is completed automatically cancels the pending deletion request. Some data may remain temporarily in backups or logs as described in the Privacy Policy and final retention policy.
