This policy explains how Shelvly uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar technologies. We do not currently use analytics cookies.

1. What cookies and storage are

Cookies and browser storage help web apps remember sessions and settings. Shelvly may use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar technologies. Data Controller: Newlux Multiservice LDA. TODO before public launch: confirm the final privacy contact email, company address, and registration/tax details.

  • Cookies: small pieces of data stored by the browser, including Supabase Auth cookies where applicable.
  • localStorage: browser storage used for longer-lived preferences on this device.
  • sessionStorage: browser storage used for temporary session data if needed by providers.
  • Similar technologies: browser or PWA mechanisms that support app functionality.

2. Types used by Shelvly

Shelvly currently uses storage for necessary service operation and user preferences. Optional analytics and marketing are not currently implemented.

  • Strictly necessary: authentication/session, security, route protection, PWA/app functionality, language/theme preference, and Supabase auth storage.
  • Preferences: language, theme, cookie preference choices, and install/home-screen dismissal state when used.
  • Analytics: not currently used. If added later, analytics should stay disabled until consent is given.
  • Marketing: not currently used. Marketing cookies are not used unless added later with consent.
